During Medieval times, a person masturbating to the latest pornographic material often found themselves being thwarted by the absence of illumination to view it by. Being impoverished, they soon happened upon the idea of placing a candle within a hollowed-out Pumpkin, protecting it from the wind, and cut holes in the pumpkin to allow light to escape.
