religious art in public schools. good or bad?
Posted by adminFeb 8
some teachers will not allow students to make pictures that are religious. i don’t think this is right.
i think that any kid who wants to draw religious things can. i think that it should be acceptable for a room full of kids to draw
crosses
upside-down crosses
stars o david
crescents
stars
flying spaghetti monsters
bhuddas
or any other religious thing they desire.
some people think that the kids should draw anything religious.
some people think that the kids should draw nothing religious.
some people think that the kids should draw SOME religious things?
what do you think?
btw this is hypothetical.

Really? Have any news stories, or evidence?
Teachers are not allowed to do that. However, when it is set within specific parameters, the teacher can say no.

As long as it is the students idea and not the teachers. But in my school they don’t even allow religious clothing anymore. They made someone change that had a shirt with an upside down cross, and they made someone change that had a cross on their sleeve. Kinda weird i think. I don’t care if other kids express their own religious views.

It’s fine by me, as long as the kids aren’t made to do it.

Good grief! What schools? IN my time at school we studied the great masters and many of the subjects were religious…I made my entire art class dress up and act out the Last Supper in order for me to photograph it like the famous painting! Imagine that now?? No way would that happen in case I offended other religions!

I think it is okay. Is this a hypothetical question or did this really happen?
